Solvent evaporation-induced self-assembly methods based on supramolecular organization of amphiphilic molecules in combination with sol-gel processing of condensable inorganic precursors result in porous thin films with a monomodal pore size distribution. By employing high speed spin coating for the film formation and high temperature (80 °C) drying and aging, we developed a synthesis procedure for mesostructured silica thin films that can reproducibly produce up to eight different pore morphologies, including a rhombohedral (R m), a centered rectangular (c2mm), two wormlike, two curved lamellar, and two lamellar structures. We report the self‐assembly and characterization of mesoporous silica thin films with a 3D ordered arrangement of isolated spherical pores. The preparation method was based on solvent‐evaporation induced self‐assembly (EISA), with MTES (CH 3 –Si(OCH 2 CH 3 ) 3 ) as the silica precursor and a polystyrene‐ block ‐poly(ethylene oxide) (PS‐ b ‐PEO) diblock copolymer as the structure‐directing agent.
