Asthmatiker spüren den positiven Unterschied - Mikrotrockendampf heisst die Zauberformel #astma #porentiefrein In the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR), the most significant difference between Autistic Disorder (Kanner's) and Asperger's syndrome is that a diagnosis of the former includes the observation of "[d]belays or abnormal functioning in at least one of the following areas, with onset prior to age 3 years: Leo Kanner, a psychiatrist at Johns Hopkins, recognised children sent to his clinic with similar characteristics, which he named “early infantile autism”. In his original description, Kanner 2 noted that in most cases the child’s behaviour was abnormal from early infancy. He therefore suggested an inborn, presumably genetic, defect. Summary A year before Asperger's first on ‘autistic psychopathy’ appeared, Kanner (1943) published his famous first account of eleven children with a pattern of abnormal behaviour that he decided to call ‘early infantile autism’. Silberman discovers that Asperger was lecturing about these children as early as 1938, some 5 years before Kanner's announcement of the “discovery” of autism. In science, as in commerce, or exploring space, being there first is important, and Silberman sees the real importance of what he has stumbled upon.
For almost 40 years, the English-speaking autism community knew almost nothing about Asperger’s article. Then, in 1981, child psychiatrist Lorna Wing at the UK’s Institute of Psychiatry in London published an pediatrician Hans Asperger (1906-1980), who described the condition of “autistic psychopathy”, later known as Asperger disorder (APA; DSM-IV-TR 2000), and the Jewish Austrian-Hungarian-born child psychiatrist Leo Kanner (1896-1981), who described “early infantile autism” (Kanner 1943), often referred to as Kanner’s autism. Es gibt Unterschiede zwischen den “offiziellen” Diagnosen.
Kanner and Asperger saw their descriptions as different. It makes the case that Georg Frankl helped both men see autism as we know it today and first saw the breadth of that continuum. Author Andrés Martin. PMID: 27453089 It is remarkable that although Kanner and Asperger were born in Austria and educated in Germany, and both were astute clinicians focused on the same problems, they did not refer to each other. This may, initially, have been due to isolation during the war years, but it does not explain 35 years of silence.
Kanner believed autism was caused by lack of attention from parents which, in today’s views, is incredibly controversial. Leo Kanner was an Ukrainian-Austrian-American psychiatrist, physician, and social activist best known for his work related to autism.
